Bloomberg and other important stuff

Hey Everybody,
It’s been a while since I last posted, and boy, what a time I’ve been having! I ended up interviewing at Bloomberg L.P. in December through a bit of a fluke, and I’ve decided to accept the offer they made me to work there this summer! I’ll be spending 12 weeks working in Research & Development in New York City. This is quite a change from my last few jobs: the largest company I’ve ever worked at was 15 people! Yikes. Plus I’ve only ever worked in the SF Bay Area (great area, by the way), so the change of locale should be interesting, too.
I went to Bloomberg “Discovery Day” a couple of weeks ago and was quite favorably impressed. At the minimum there are five people at Bloomberg who can act like they love their jobs for several hours, but I’m very optimistic about this summer. I had no idea their development practices were pretty close to the “agile” we use back in Silicon Valley, and my future co-interns (is that what you call them?) are really cool. A couple of friends here at RPI are currently in the process of interviewing at Bloomberg, so I may even have some buddies with me in the Big Apple.
In other news, my open source project, RPI Planner is coming along nicely and I’m making slow but steady progress on my research for the Mobile Studio Project.
